Description

Application Engineer (SEM Metrology) needed in Boise, ID for an innovative engineering and technology company supporting advanced electron beam semiconductor wafer pattern verification systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing U.S. engineering team and serve as a key technical bridge for cutting-edge SEM metrology tools while receiving extensive mentorship, international training, and exposure to major semiconductor manufacturers.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Application Engineer (SEM Metrology) position include:

Experience in semiconductor front-end equipment or semiconductor manufacturing processes, with valid work authorization in the United States.
Support customers by identifying process control challenges and proposing technical solutions using SEM metrology systems.
Demonstrate advanced tool functions and optimize measurement recipes for semiconductor processes from R&D through high-volume manufacturing.
Analyze large metrology datasets to verify tool performance, process stability, and technical results for customers and internal teams.
Conduct progress review meetings, report field technical status to headquarters, and deliver professional presentations on project results.
Train customers on tool operation, recipe creation, and data interpretation.
Provide software and application troubleshooting, with hardware diagnosis experience considered a plus.
Experience with semiconductor fabrication, metrology concepts, image processing, Excel, Spotfire, JMP, R, GDS, OASIS, Python, SEM hardware, vacuum systems, or Japanese business culture is preferred.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including a comprehensive training program, 6+ months of on-site mentorship by senior engineers, periodic technical training at Headquarters in Japan, occasional travel between Boise and Phoenix, and advanced training travel to Japan approximately once every 2-3 years.
