The Associate Design Team Leader is responsible for the oversight of all the engineering design and coordination aspects on assigned projects, measured by schedule conformance, output (drawings/engineering) quality and plant/field support (customer satisfaction).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead, direct and facilitate a team of engineers, modelers, and checkers during the design phase on assigned

projects

  • Review contract drawings to identify problems, missing information or conflicts
  • Develop and effectively communicate requests for additional information from any of HCG engineering

primary internal\external customers.

  • Lead meetings to facilitate the design process

  • Perform complete document management for assigned projects

  • Ensure adherence to HCG design standards on assigned projects

  • Oversee and manage the development of an engineering BIM model drawings in conformance with the contract documents that is consistent with the most efficient production and erection practices (i.e. design for manufacturability) and at the highest level of quality to insure a seamless output of production drawings and data.

  • Monitor all related schedules to ensure timely release of information as required. This includes the development and maintenance of submittal schedules to external customers to ensure contract compliance and schedule conformance. Expedite the approval return of all submittals to ensure production schedules are met.

  • Provide guidance to the design to enhance HCG's ability to efficiently execute the project

  • Provide engineering support during the manufacturing phase of assigned projects

  • Provide engineering support during the shipping\erection phase of assigned project

  • Accountable for assigned project engineering budget. Includes frequent review of actual vs budget status with feedback to the VP Design Services of possibilities to maximize efficiencies.

  • Accountable for overall project quality related to engineering design

  • Develop close working relationships with all internal HCG work centers

  • In collaboration with the project manager, identify and quantify all design scope changes, internally and externally, to support the PCO process.

  • Direct and oversee all design closeout functions in a timely manner in a timely manner. This includes finalizing as-built drawings and records and readying for archives

  • Be committed to and actively participate in the Continuous Process Improvement Improvement Process and serve

as be a role model.

  • Submit new product ideas, marketing suggestions and information relative to competition.
  • Represent company at meetings and seminars as required.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required within the scope of job responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Preferred), Bachelor in Business Administration, Associate Degree in Technology
  • Minimum two years related experience in the precast industry (engineering process)
  • Mastery of techniques, skills, best practices to produce all precast related drawings
  • Excellent communication skills, facilitation, organization and problem solving skills
  • Computer skills in spreadsheets/databases and Microsoft Office Suite software
