AVP - Investment Operations (Data & ESG)

Job Description

This individual will work closely with the business stakeholders in the various business lines mentioned previously and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) leads to provide solutions supporting ESG data needs, collection, and reporting. To be successful, the ideal candidate would have experience in thoughtful strategic planning around data integrity and governance with an ability to anticipate and respond to future business needs. The role requires a dynamic, adaptive, and versatile experienced hands-on professional to ensure best practices in a fast-paced rapidly growing environment.

Specific Responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Data Governance: Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across ESG datasets.
  • ESG Data Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with ESG Data Strategy teams to define priorities and translate business requirements into actionable documentation.
  • Data Output & Quality Assurance: Generate and review data output files for integrity and assurance; implement QA/QC checks to maintain high standards of data quality.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Perform analysis across diverse and large datasets; synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and communicate recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Drive automation of data workflows and reporting processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Technology Partnership: Work closely with Technology teams to design and implement efficient, scalable solutions for ESG reporting needs.

General Requirements

  • Ability to be flexible in terms of hours to coordinate with team members across various time zones (primary offices, in NY, LA and London)
  • An analytical mind and a passion/interest in bringing innovative ideas to increase efficiency of existing processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to build out business requirement documentation
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated and a team player
  • Technical skills:
    • Strong excel skills required.
    • Familiarity with institutional asset management research, trading workflows, and associated systems. Solid understanding of the data points associated with different asset classes.
    • Experience connecting with third party APIs, SQL, or Python preferred but not required.
    • Experience with Databricks and PowerBi preferred but not required
  • Experience in Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Information Technology or Software Development life cycle preferred with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • ESG data experience:
    • Support the implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing software, particularly in relation to data collection, data governance and process design.

QualificationsEducation

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or other business-related discipline

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in high quality, global capital markets or investment management firms with expertise in Data Operations
  • Experience in Investment Operations, Fund Accounting, Information Technology or Software Development life cycle preferred
  • Prior experience with an alternative asset manager preferred broader asset management experience preferred
  • Hedge fund, Credit or Private Equity experience is a plus

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$150,000 - $175,000
