Body Shop Estimator Job Responsibilities
- Inspect damaged vehicles and create accurate, detailed repair estimates
- Use estimating software to document repair procedures, parts, and labor requirements
- Communicate with customers to explain repair processes, timelines, and expectations
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters to negotiate and finalize repair costs
- Monitor repair progress and update estimates as needed throughout the repair process
- Work closely with technicians, parts, and management to ensure efficient workflow
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer and dealership quality standards
- Manage multiple repair orders while maintaining organization and attention to detail
- Follow up with customers and insurance companies to provide updates and ensure satisfaction
- Identify additional damage and document supplements promptly and accurately
- Maintain compliance with dealership, manufacturer, and insurance guidelines
