The Opportunity

Are you a Civil 3D expert who thrives on transforming complex site requirements into high-precision engineering models? We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our growing EPCM team in Phoenix.

In this role, you will be the technical lead for site-plan projects, taking ownership of roads, grading, and stormwater management systems for major mining and industrial developments. You will bridge the gap between initial concept and final construction, ensuring every calculation and model meets the rigorous demands of the mining sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Design: Lead civil engineering design using Civil 3D and AutoCAD, focusing on complex site grading, haul roads, sanitary systems, and advanced stormwater management modeling.

  • Precision Engineering: Perform detailed design calculations based on fundamental engineering principles and applicable regulatory codes; translate these into clear, actionable data for the CAD team.

  • Technical Reporting: Produce comprehensive engineering reports, technical plans, and material take-offs (MTOs) for both feasibility studies and detailed design phases.

  • Project Management Support: Manage schedules, costs, and quality for specific design contracts. Liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure all specs align with the project’s "Big Picture."

  • Field & Site Investigations: Carry out site investigations and field tests, reporting findings directly to the Engineering Manager to inform design adjustments.

  • Tender & Contract Support: Prepare information for tender documents and assist in the technical assessment of bids. Supervise subcontractors to ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Quality standards.

Professional Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited college).

  • Licensure: Registered Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Software Mastery: * Civil 3D: 4–8 years of high-level proficiency (Essential).

    • AutoCAD & InfraWorks: Strong working knowledge (InfraWorks experience is a distinct advantage).

  • Experience: 4–8 years of experience in Mining and Infrastructure project design.

  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and manage high-level engineering risks.

Why This Role?

This is a direct-hire opportunity to join a world-renowned EPCM group. You’ll be working in a fast-paced Phoenix hub where your designs directly impact the infrastructure of the world’s largest mining operations. If you are looking for a role that values technical design excellence and offers a clear path toward project management or senior engineering, this is it.
