Length of Assignment: 1 year –possibility to extend based on performance/position need Pay range: $65.00 - 68.69/hr on w2 (all inclusive)If you are open to looking at non-local candidates will per diem be offered? Will be considered but not preferred.What schedule is the candidate required to work: Can do 5-8’s or 4-9’s with flex Friday (1/2 day or every other off)What is the preferred candidate location (local, non-local, remote?) and is there flexibility? Client's location, but will be on project sites in VA frequently, so as long as they can be at client's location, 1 or 2 days per week, they don’t need to be based in RichmondWill travel be required for this position? If so, how often? Yes, ~3 days per week to project sites in VA (~2.5 hour radius from Richmond)Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Experience:
  • Detailed technical knowledge of renewable power generation, large power plant systems/equipment/operations, power distribution/transmission systems and/or complex construction projects.
  • Technical skills, including the ability to read and prepare technical specifications and Civil drawings. Understand and demonstrate use of Inspection and Testing Procedures. Some station and engineering experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) phased ESC plans, grading plans, and available hydraulic and hydrologic calculations.
  • Basic understanding of Stormwater Management (SWM) and Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC)
  • Understanding of Non-Conformance Reports and associated Corrective Action.
  • Strong communication and integration skills
  • Ability to build relationships and provide leadership in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions
  • Valid driver’s license in order to operate a company vehicle
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, SAP products, Adobe products, Bluebeam, scheduling software

  • Experience building utility scale (20MW+) solar power generation projects
High Level Project Overview: The Solar Project Construction group manages the execution of solar projects from 1MW to 150+MW through Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) contracts. The group is organized into several sequential teams, Development, Diligence, Pre-Construction, Execution, and Close-Out. One Civil QA is needed and will oversee specific contractor QC activities during construction of new solar projects to ensure quality program and applicable DEQ adherence.Job Duties:
  • Supporting the solar project management team by observing specific quality inspections performed by the contractor’s quality personnel.
  • Participate in the Project Kick-off meeting to explain the SWIE process and what is expected of the Contractor.
  • Managing an Owners Civil Non-Conformance Report (Client) log and associated Corrective Actions (CA) program.
  • Managing an Owners Civil Quality matrix rating contractor’s quality program and adherence to Va DEQ inspections.
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders including Site Owner’s Representatives, Operations, Environmental, and Safety.
  • Coordination with external stakeholders, including counterparts in the EPC’s organization, Va DEQ and Owners Engineers.
  • Working with a cross-functional team that includes engineers, contractor Quality Managers, DE site teams, safety specialists, and Authorities Holding Jurisdiction (AHJ)
  • Participating in status update meetings with EPC contractors and DE site teams
  • Overseeing and monitoring specific construction progress, ensuring compliance with EPC contract, DEQ requirements, and SWPPP Best Management Practices IAW the Inspection and Testing Procedure.
  • Reviewing third party OE reports to monitor EPC performance and providing recommendations to the DE site teams
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Will report to a Manager –Construction Projects and will be assigned to a team led by a Construction Project Manager.
Required Years of Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in Civil Quality Control / Assurance fields or managing multi-functional teams in a Civil construction role.
Education:
  • Required: Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree –Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management
  • Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education
