The Audience and Measurement Capabilities team drives innovation in retail media by applying industry-leading data science and analytics at scale. We activate Kroger's first-party data to enable precision audience creation, segmentation, and closed-loop measurement-advancing media accountability, performance analytics, and campaign optimization.
Job Overview:
We're seeking a Data Engineer to join our Audience and Measurement Capabilities team. This role combines expertise in data warehousing, machine learning, AI and problem solving within a retail media network context. You'll help scale advanced data science solutions while applying SOLID principles and CI/CD best practices to deliver impactful, data-driven capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, and maintain scalable and reusable data pipelines and data storage solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Implement and optimize data warehousing solutions to support business intelligence and analytics.
- Apply machine learning concepts to enhance data processing and analysis capabilities at scale.
- Build scaled data science enablement tools to support engineering processes and empower data scientists in their analyses.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability by adhering to SOLID principles.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work collaboratively with nearshore and offshore resources to achieve scaled delivery
- Continue individual development by staying up to date in the latest industry trends and technologies
Technical Skills:
- Experience working on a collaborative team contributing to shared code bases
- Advanced proficiency in Python /PySpark/SQL
- 1+ year(s) experience working with one of the major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) - Azure preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure including Azure Data Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Snowflake
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles, medallion architecture and best practices in software development.
- Knowledge of API principles and best practices, including RESTful design and integration.
Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and data pipeline processes at fortune 50 scale.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in data engineering.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with Agile ways of working including refinement.
- Familiarity with media audience creation and measurement is a plus.
