Job Description
Design Engineer Mid Level New Hudson, MI 3-6 Months PAY: $60/HR. WFH: onsite preferred, but hybrid possible based on business needs This role does not require Creo Cabling/Wiring and Electrical skills. Instead it requires sheet metal and structures. Please only submit candidates with recent Creo experience and strong Ansys experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Vehicle and Product System Design and Development. System physics modeling and characterization. CAD system and component concept development and packaging. Application of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization. Technical drawing generation. Prepare and present project status reports. Test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R). Metal structures and systems Project Support Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE and project management skills. Prepare technical specifications. Develop testing methods and procedures. Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required. Experience in parametric 3D modeling and ASME Y14.5-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Be a team player. Have great attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong work ethic and pride in their work products. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3yrs engineering employment experience. BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent. REQUIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Creo CAD experience. ANSYS/FEA tool experience. Windchill product lifecycle management. Drawing, Detailing & GD&T application Metal structures and systems Sheetmetal Structures Full Vehicle understanding and how systems interact with each other Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to support technicians and shop builds. Operate simple hand tools, etc. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will typically be performed in a team-based office environment. US Citizenship is required.
