Job Description
SGP Recruiting provides both operations and strategic support to Tribal 8(a) and commercial organizations. Our client is a family of SBA-certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified companies delivering IT, management consulting, and general construction solutions to the Federal Government and commercial sector.
They are actively seeking a Engineering Technicians based in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a full-time, onsite position. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Engineering Technician 5 (Range $40-$45) (7) years of experience
Engineering Technician 4 (Range $30-$35) (5) years of experience
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team supporting a USSC NIWC contract in Colorado Springs, CO.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other IT and AV systems related tasks.
Cabling installation of copper cable up to CAT6A and SM/MM Fiber
Termination of copper cable up to CAT6A and SM/MM Fiber to MPO/MTP
IT and AV rack installation and Wiring
Projector and screen support structure installations.
Mounting LCD/LED displays and video walls.
Test point to point functionality of systems.
Testing and recording of all cables.
Travel to various job sites around Colorado Springs area.
Candidates with experience installing systems on government sites will be rated more highly.
Position requires a background check to include a DMV report, current and valid driver’s license.
Other duties assigned as needed.

Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues.
Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Ability to work and think independently and ensure to meet deadlines.
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum audio-visual installation experience required.
Formal education in electronics or related field preferred.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
External Training
Avixa CTS and/or CTS-I certification, required.
BICSI certification required.
Vendor (Extron/AMX/Crestron/Biamp/Planar, CommScope, Corning, etc.) certification preferred.
Clearance Requirement
Technicians will be required to obtain SCI Government Security Clearance, most currently have Top Secret Clearance.
