Job Description

Location: Phoenix, Arizona | Type: Full-Time, Salaried | Setting: Collaborative & Dynamic

Who We Are

We aren't just building infrastructure; we are safeguarding communities and redesigning the environments where we live, work, and play. Established in 1975, we are a 100% employee-owned, multi-discipline premier engineering and architectural firm with over 20 locations nationwide.

Because we are entirely employee-owned, when the firm wins, you win. We don't just offer a job; we offer a literal stake in the company and a transparent path to professional ownership.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a visionary Hydraulic/Hydrology Engineer & Project Manager to spearhead critical public infrastructure and flood control projects across the Southwest.

If you are a licensed PE who thrives on complex modeling, loves mentoring rising talent, and wants to run profitable, high-impact projects from concept to completion, this is your next definitive career move.

> Technical Arsenal & Core Duties

As a senior member of our team, you'll dive deep into advanced modeling while steering the project ship:

  • Advanced Modeling: Craft sophisticated 1D and 2D stormwater simulations using HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, HEC-HMS, and FLO-2D.

  • Regulatory Command: Mastermind FEMA permitting and navigate complex jurisdictional drainage frameworks.

  • Design Oversight: Direct the production of high-caliber drainage designs and construction blueprints utilizing AutoCAD, while managing geospatial data via ArcGIS and QGIS.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a technical compass for eager EIT staff, breaking down complex H&H theory into actionable practice.

  • Field to Boardroom: Conduct site investigations, document crucial findings, and build compelling graphic presentations for key stakeholders.

= Leadership & Execution Goals

  • Own the Outcome: Lead projects that hit deadlines, stay sharp on budget, and exceed client expectations.

  • Collaborate Masterfully: Build a culture of camaraderie, working seamlessly with fellow PMs and multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Drive Innovation: Don't just follow the playbook—routinely propose faster, sharper, and more effective ways to solve engineering challenges.

  • Keep Score: Review performance metrics, manage project frameworks, and guide proper staffing allocation for peak efficiency.

  • Credentials: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and a valid Professional Engineer (PE) License (Arizona registration preferred, or ability to obtain via reciprocity).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated drainage and stormwater engineering experience (Phoenix-area regional knowledge is a massive plus).

  • Soft Skills: Top-tier organizational skills, sharp critical thinking, and the clarity to convey complex data to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Execution: A deep understanding of construction means, methods, and specifications.

We take care of our co-owners. Our comprehensive package includes:

  • = Wealth Building: Dual retirement tracking with a 401(k) match plus our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

  • >z Premium Health: Comprehensive Client Client PPO medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus MDLive Telehealth.

  • Balance: Generous paid vacation/annual leave, sick leave, and 8 paid holidays.

  • = Growth: Tuition reimbursement, professional society fee coverage, and registration reimbursements.

  • Extra Mile: Commuter benefits, employer-paid short/long-term disability, life insurance, and regular team-building/morale events.

Physical & Legal Realities

  • Comfortable with prolonged periods at a modern workstation, deep-diving into data.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally during site visits.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship (We are unable to sponsor H1-B or other work visas at this time).
