Job Details

We are seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our growing litigation team. In this role, we handle a steady pipeline of general liability and insurance-related matters across a range of industries.

We provide meaningful responsibility early, including direct client interaction and hands-on case management, while maintaining a collaborative and supportive team structure. This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolutionDraft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memorandaTake and defend depositionsAppear in court for hearings, conferences, and other proceedingsPrepare matters for mediation, arbitration, and trialCommunicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courtsDevelop case strategy and provide analysis on liability, damages, and risk exposurePartner with other attorneys and staff to drive efficient case outcomes

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in civil litigation defenseExperience handling general liability, insurance defense, or similar litigation mattersStrong background in motion practice, discovery, and depositionsAbility to independently manage a caseload while collaborating with a broader teamStrong written and oral advocacy skillsExperience with court appearances and case strategy development

Requirements

Active bar admission in Massachusetts or Rhode Island or ability to waive inAdditional bar admissions are a strong plusStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentComfortable working within a hybrid schedule structure
