Mechanical Proposal & Cost Engineer

Job Description: Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Proposal & Cost Engineer) Burlington, MA  US Citizenship is required Background check and drug test are required.Position Overview: We are seeking a Mechanical engineer with expertise in Interface Adapters, cables, connectors, and building Bills of Materials (BOMs) to develop proposals that detail parts, labor, and associated costs for complex build-to-print assemblies.- This role involves working with Interface Test Assemblies/Adapters and other highly technical Automated Test components.-Note: There is no or minimal design work with the role.Responsibilities:• Act as technical liaison between the customer, engineering, assembly and procurement• Building and pricing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various Interface Test Assemblies/Adapters, cables, other BCO product, based on a drawing package that typically includes dimensional drawings, parts list, wiring diagrams, fab files, Gerber files, and ASME Y14.100 dimensional drawings.• Produce working bills of materials at the level sufficient for purchasing group to distribute requests for quote, or place order for material.- This activity includes make/buy decisions for cost proposals, selection of a particular machined part/sheet metal part supplier for individual BOM items• Translate BOMs into detailed proposals, incorporating all labor costs necessary for assembly.• Work with suppliers and internal procurement for sourcing cables, connectors, and other required materials, ensuring all elements are accounted for in the proposal.• Follow an established Build-to-Print process, with all designs and specifications provided by the client.• Maintain a close working relationship with internal teams, ensuring timely and accurate project execution. Qualifications:• B.S.
