Job Description
Dietitian – PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $28.00 - $40.00.
- Possible $10,000 Sign-On Bonus.
- Full-Time Benefits Package.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday.
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Full-time position.
Position Summary:
The Dietitian is responsible for planning and providing nutritional care for PACE participants as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities include assessing nutritional needs, developing and implementing nutrition care plans, evaluating outcomes, and supporting participants in maintaining or improving their overall health and nutritional status.
Responsibilities:
- Assess nutritional and medical history, laboratory data, medications, diet orders, and nutritional regimens.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nutrition care plans.
- Recommend nutrition interventions to support medical diagnoses and health goals.
- Complete nutrition assessments in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Educate participants, family members, staff, and providers on nutrition, food safety, and sanitation.
- Document assessments, interventions, and care plans in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in daily interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning activities.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, policies, ethics, and professional standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, or related field meeting registration requirements.
- Successful completion of an approved dietetic internship or coordinated undergraduate program.
- Registered Dietitian credential or registration eligible.
- Current CPR/BCLS certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid auto insurance.
Highly Preferred:
- State dietitian licensure or eligibility.
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Experience working with older adults or PACE populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adult Mandatory Reporter status.
- Food safety certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Certification Requirements:
- Registered Dietitian Certification.
- CPR.
- BCLS.
License Requirements:
- Iowa license or eligibility for licensure.
- Compact licensure accepted where applicable.
