Political Science Research Assistant (Temporary - Part-Time)
Dr. Kirk Hawkins in the Political Science Department is seeking a part-time staff research assistant to work with him until August 2026.
What you'll do in this position:
Train a student employee on being an administrative assistant for Team Populism, an international scholarly network
Train a team of undergraduate research assistants to study textual analysis using LLMs
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
Some college experience
Work experience under Dr. Kirk Hawkins and familiarity with his current research projects
Experience working with Team Populism
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree

This temporary position will end on or before August 19, 2026. Hourly wage is fixed at $17.00.
