Job Description

Product Design Engineer– $70,000-$80,000 – Estherville, Iowa ON-SITE

The Role

Are you a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys turning ideas into real, working products? Do you want a role where you can design, test, and see your work come to life on the shop floor? If so, this Product Design Engineer opportunity offers a hands-on role where your ideas and technical skills make a real impact.

You will work on a variety of engineering projects from concept through to production. You will create designs, develop prototypes and solve real-world engineering challenges.

This is a great opportunity for a Product Design Engineer who enjoys both desk-based design work and time on the shop floor. You will work closely with internal teams, customers and suppliers, giving you full exposure to the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create CAD drawings, layouts, and product designs
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Review customer specifications and input data into systems
  • Carry out engineering calculations and testing
  • Prepare and update engineering specifications
  • Support manufacturing with technical guidance
  • Provide technical support to customers on new and existing designs
  • Work with vendors and customers on prototypes and improvements

    The Person

    To succeed as a Product Design Engineer, you will bring:

    • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
    • 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience
    • Strong CAD skills and confidence using engineering software
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
    • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
    • The ability to work independently and manage your own tasks
    • A practical mindset with a focus on improving products and processes

    Knowledge of FEA tools (desirable, not essential)
