Job Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and Guiding Hourly Team Members: Act as a point of contact and provide guidance to the raw material employees on their assigned tasks, ensuring they understand instructions and follow standard operating procedures including 6S compliance. Deliver tier meetings/huddles on a regular basis.
- Ensuring Safety Compliance: Responsible for reinforcing safety rules, PPE adherence, and procedures within their assigned area to maintain a safe working environment.
- Facilitating Workflow: Keep the production flow moving smoothly by monitoring progress, addressing minor issues as they arise, and ensuring materials and resources are available (including wood and poly trailers). This includes ensuring an effective shift handoff and staffing coordination as well as collaborating with other functional areas to ensure raw material needs are being met.
- Maintaining Quality Standards: They often play a role in monitoring product quality and ensuring that team members are adhering to quality control procedures. Ensures all data entry and documentation is accurate.
- Communication and Escalation: They serve as a communication link between the hourly team and the salaried supervisors, relaying information, providing updates on production status, and escalating any significant problems or concerns. Upward and downward communication is required.
- Training and Support: Work with training team to deliver training to both new and existing employees. Ensure effective skill enhancement of the area employees.
- Acting as a Backup: In the absence of a salaried supervisor or other employees (e.g., during breaks, meetings, or short absences), the hourly lead often steps in to provide immediate oversight or to complete the necessary tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be Material Handler or above
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Familiarity with internal inventory and tracking systems
- Certified on forklifts (up to G50)
- Must be able to work within large scales of data (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Teamwork

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience
- JDE and other internal system experience
Essential Functions:
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Employee will be required to work within Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to operate plant machinery (forklifts) and online systems (RFS, JDE, etc.)
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for a prolonged period
- Operate equipment and systems
- Perform repetitive tasks
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be forklift certified, requiring proper vision, hearing, and motor skills
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds {regularly}
