Job Description

Your Role:

Prepare merchandise, supplies, and display units for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MarketPlace stores at mobile events. Receive and count inventory, organize materials, and act as a point-of-sale system administrator.

Pay, Schedule & Benefits:

  • The anticipated starting pay range is $17.50 - $19.00/hour. This compensation range considers a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences, as well as internal equity.
  • This is a part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. Approximately 10-24 hours per week, subject to operational needs. From August-May, work hours are approximately 20-24 hours/week, and from June-July work hours are approximately 10-15 hours/week. Work is primarily during weekday daytime business hours, but occasional evening and weekend hours required.
  • Up to 4 expenses-paid domestic trips required annually.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare supplies and merchandise (ex. fold t-shirts, label items) and stock mobile display units.
  • Review event shipping and receiving schedule, and create a preparation plan for each event.
  • Receive and count inventory, monitor inventory levels and communicate low/excess levels to Retail Event Supervisor. Periodically perform complete inventory count. 
  • Organize and clean MarketPlace warehouse storage space and display units.
  • Divide, package and coordinate delivery of merchandise to packing sites, MobilePack™ events and special events. Ensure that proper signage, displays and inventory lists are delivered with merchandise. Assist with order fulfillment, as needed.
  • Serve as a point-of-sale system administrator. Enter data, troubleshoot issues, and train peers.
  • Travel to MobilePack and special events as needed and lead MarketPlace operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications:

  • Commitment to support and promote FMSC’s Christian mission and goals.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Able to stand for 8 hours, push, pull, repeatedly lift 30-50 lbs., bend, twist, and use fine manual dexterity.
  • Able to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of detail, accuracy and follow-up.
  • High level of energy and self-motivation, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Have experience or an interest in becoming familiar with retail merchandising.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. Able to learn new software applications.
  • Able to tolerate consistent exposure to soy (an allergen).
