Job Description

About Suno

We're building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where the entire world can feel the joy and fulfilment of making music. Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world.

Building the future of entertainment requires ambition. The pace is fast, the problems are hard, and the work demands ownership and intensity. For the right people, it's incredibly rewarding: a chance to shape a new medium, work with a small team that cares deeply about quality, make music, drink too much coffee, and build something that millions of people use to express themselves in ways that were never before possible.

Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).

Founded in 2023 by Harvard alumni with a shared passion for music, Suno has quickly grown to 200 employees while empowering over 100 million people to create original songs. In 2025, the company raised a $250 million Series C to continue building innovative products that amplify creativity and imagination.

About the Role

We're looking for a full-time Senior Qualitative UX Researcher to own the voice of the user across Suno's current user, subscriber, and power user experience. This role is focused on Suno's power user and pro creator experience - understanding how musicians and serious creators use Suno, what keeps them engaged, and what's missing. You'll work closely with PMs, designers, and engineers to bring user signal into every product decision as it's being shaped.

You'll be embedded in fast-moving teams and responsible for scoping, executing, and synthesizing research at the pace of the product org. We move fast, decisions happen daily, and research is most valuable when it arrives in time to shape those decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives with high ownership in that kind of environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end qualitative research - interviews, usability tests, diary studies - across mobile, web, and platform experiences

  • Develop and deploy surveys that complement qualitative findings and provide lightweight validation for hypotheses

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to scope research, identify learning goals, and quickly synthesize findings into actionable insights

  • Deliver research at the speed of the product team, not on a separate research timeline

  • Advocate for the user across all touchpoints - from onboarding to creator tools to content discovery

  • Help establish and evolve research best practices and scalable processes to support rapid experimentation and growing demand

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of industry experience in UX research, with a strong focus on qualitative methods in fast-paced, embedded product environments

  • BA or equivalent experience in HCI, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field

  • Deep expertise in qualitative research design, execution, and synthesis

  • A track record of research that drove product decisions - you can point to specific features, pivots, or roadmap shifts your work shaped

  • Comfortable working with quantitative data alongside your qual findings

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach - you build genuine thought partnerships with PMs and designers

  • A proactive, flexible mindset - comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, very tight timelines, and a fast pace of output

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in being the single researcher at a startup (even though we have a UX team, we function with high ownership like being the single researcher in a startup)

  • Experience in music production tools such as Ableton, Logic Pro, Pro-Tools

  • Familiarity with AI and generative technologies in product experiences.

  • PhD in HCI, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Bonus points if you've used Suno to make music.

Additional Notes

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

  • This role requires working at our San Francisco or Los Angeles (Venice Beach) office 5 days per week

Perks & Benefits for Full-Time Employees

  • Company Equity Package

  • 401(k) with 3% Employer Match & Roth 401(k)

  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance (PPO w/ HSA & FSA options)

  • 11 Paid Holidays + Unlimited PTO & Sick Time

  • 16 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave

  • Creative Education Stipend

  • Generous Commuter Allowance

  • In-Office Lunch (5 days per week)
