Job Description

Position Summary

As the Hiring Manager, you are responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and on boarding team members while ensuring alignment with Sonic’s standards. This role also requires a strong working knowledge of Sonic’s operational procedures, including preparation for our Annual Brand Audit and Operations Assessment (OPS). You'll support the management team in maintaining staffing levels and compliance to help the location stay audit-ready year-round.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle hiring: sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and on boarding new crew members

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to ensure proper staffing for all shifts

  • Train new hires on Sonic standards, customer service, food safety, and cleanliness expectations

  • Maintain awareness of Sonic’s Annual Audit and OPS Assessment requirements

  • Support audit readiness by reinforcing team compliance with policies, procedures, and cleanliness standards

  • Promote and model Sonic core values, safety practices, and store policies

  • Maintain accurate hiring and training records, ensuring documentation meets Sonic’s audit standards

  • Use hiring platforms and internal tools (e.g., Hireology, Indeed, applicant tracking systems) to manage candidates

  • Foster a positive candidate and employee experience

Qualifications

  • Prior hiring, HR, or management experience (restaurant or QSR experience is a plus)

  • Working knowledge of Sonic brand standards, including audits and operational benchmarks

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to coach team members on quality and compliance

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Ability to train others and hold team members accountable to Sonic expectations

Bonus Skills ( Need to Know )

  • Familiarity with Sonic’s Annual Audit scorecards and grading criteria

  • Experience preparing for OPS Assessments and supporting day-to-day operational readiness

  • Knowledge of food safety protocols (ServSafe certification a plus)
