Job Description

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Automation Specialist in Phoenix AZ

Work Schedule: Casual/Per diem

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Operate and monitor Propel automation systems
  • Troubleshoot system errors, alerts, and workflow interruptions
  • Investigate and resolve specimen issues using internal systems
  • Collaborate with laboratory departments to ensure timely specimen routing
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and document consumable usage
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, including system setup and breakdown
  • Meet departmental turnaround time goals and production expectations
  • Follow all quality and safety standards

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification:

  • 6 months or more of experience in a laboratory or specimen processing environment
  • 6 months/years' or more of experience working with automated specimen processing or robotic systems
  • 6 months or more of experience using laboratory information systems (e.g., SIS, Storage & Retrieval)

Additional Job Standards

  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and interpret system alerts
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
