Job Description
Executive Summary:
- Our client is seeking a VMware System Engineer with a Full Scope Polygraph to support a mission-critical environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role will be instrumental in redesigning and optimizing VMware infrastructure as the organization transitions to a Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
- The ideal candidate is a Maryland resident holding an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, with proven expertise in VMware vCenter and system administration, and hands-on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment.
Position Description:
- The VMware Engineer will lead architectural design, system migration, and administration of VMware environments, ensuring secure, optimized, and scalable operations.
- The role requires close collaboration with network, storage, and security teams while driving automation, optimization, and standardization across platforms.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Deep knowledge and experience with VMware vCenter and VMware system administration.
- Experience migrating from VMware 7.x to 8.x.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration, including patching and sustainment.
- Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Power Distribution Units (PDU).
- Knowledge of enclave security and firewall technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ASA).
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with VMware NSX.
- Knowledge of Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
- Strong background in system optimization, automation, and infrastructure design.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into secure, production-ready solutions.
