Responsibilities

As our RF System Design intern, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Perform system-level design and optimization for mmWave communication systems
  • Contribute to implementation and testing of beamforming architectures for improved efficiency and performance.
  • Analyze link budget and system trade-offs for coverage, throughput, and power efficiency optimization
  • Implement beamforming and beam management algorithms to optimize communication link performance.
  • Work across a cross-functional collaborative team of bright engineers and scientists
  • Prepare technical documents and reports and participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions

This is a paid full time (40 hr/wk) in person position located in the Bay Area, CA.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical competency and experience to own the project, from the design concept phase to prototyping, testing, and system-level integration. They will also need to have the desire to adapt and grow in our vibrant startup culture.



Requirements
  • Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on RF systems and communications.
  • Deep knowledge of communication system theory and wireless systems
  • Familiar with digital communication systems and modulation types such as QPSK, APSK, and QAM, and their impact on performance
  • Strong knowledge of multi-antenna techniques and procedures such as MIMO and mmWave Beamforming
  • Strong knowledge of physical layer waveform design, channel coding, and PHY/MAC procedures
  • Understanding of antenna array design and RF system design of state-of-the-art mmWave transceivers
  • Proficiency in RF design tools and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, ADS, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, power meter, etc.).
  • Comfortable working and solving problems independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment.
