Position Details

The Department of Nursing in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

The department is interested in candidates who have an interest in teaching pediatrics, nutrition, pathophysiology, EBP practice, health care prevention and promotion. Pediatric nursing experience is preferred. Previous classroom teaching, course development and assessment is desired.

The successful candidate is expected to have a commitment to classroom and clinical teaching. Opportunity in teaching across all programs (BSN, MSN AGNP-PC and FNP programs and post- masters DNP) is available dependent on qualifications. Position also includes student advising, scholarly activity, service and clinical practice within the environment of a liberal arts institution. A typical teaching load is 12 credit hours in a 14-week semester. Nursing faculty have one-day week scheduled for clinical practice if desired.
 

Qualifications

1. An MSN and doctoral degree (PhD, EdD or DNP) in nursing required.

2. Current and valid Florida RN or APRN licensure required.

3. If APRN then national certification is required.

4. Evidence of teaching experience in an academic setting is required.  

5. Two (2) years or more of clinical practice (pediatrics preferred).
