Job Description

Reporting to the Digital Content Director, the Digital Production Manager leads the post-production process for Moody Global Media by managing a team of in-house editors and freelancers. This role requires high-level expertise in video editing and motion graphics, ensuring all content meets Moody's creative and theological standards. In addition to producing top-tier visual content, the Digital Production Manager is responsible for managing post-production budgets, maintaining efficient workflows, and delivering high-quality video assets on time and within scope.

Essentional Functions

  • Supervise, mentor, and support in-house editors and freelance post-production contractors.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to uphold excellence in storytelling, theological faithfulness, and technical execution.
  • Set and maintain quality standards for editing, pacing, sound design, and motion graphics across all content.
  • Build a collaborative environment where editors are encouraged to grow creatively and professionally.
  • Serve as a lead editor on high-profile digital video projects, ensuring creative excellence and alignment with Moody's mission.
  • Create sophisticated motion graphics and visual effects to elevate digital media content across platforms.
  • Troubleshoot post-production issues and provide creative solutions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain proficiency in industry-standard tools including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.

  • Track post-production expenses and ensure all deliverables are produced within allocated budgets.
  • Make strategic decisions about how to assign work internally vs. externally based on scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Source, negotiate, and onboard freelance editors and motion designers as needed to supplement team capacity.
  • Manage post-production workflows, media storage, and asset delivery systems to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Work closely with the Digital Content Manager and Digital Content Director to plan, prioritize, and execute production calendars.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assets for platforms including YouTube, social media, podcast video formats, and web.
  • Stay current on editing techniques, design trends, and digital platform standards.
  • Regularly evaluate and implement new tools or systems to improve post-production efficiency and creative output.
  • Provide training or knowledge-sharing opportunities for the internal team to stay sharp and innovative.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Five years of professional experience in video editing and motion graphics.
  • Experience overseeing budgets and coordinating creative production teams.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and related post-production tools
  • Strong visual storytelling instincts with advanced technical knowledge in video and motion graphics
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables across multiple simultaneous projects
  • Skilled in coaching editors and giving precise, actionable feedback
  • Strong understanding of video formats and publishing specs for YouTube and social media platforms
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Authorized to work legally in the US without sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent working experience in audio engineering, digital media production, journalism, or similar communication field.

This is a full-time position: Monday through Friday. This role can either be worked remotely (if outside Chicagoland) or a hybrid from both the Chicago campus and from home (within Chicagoland).

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
