Student Assistant, Data Science

This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity for a student to apply their data science knowledge in a real-world setting, working on prescriptive and predictive data products that drive impactful decisions. You’ll engage with large datasets, build models, and deploy solutions using tools like Python, BigQuery, and Vertex AI. Whether you’re interested in data exploration or operationalizing models, this role allows you to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and dynamic environment — all while contributing to measurable business outcomes.

Accountabilities:

• Contribute to the development and deployment of data products including dashboards, predictive models, and LLM-based applications.
• Explore and analyze complex datasets to uncover patterns and support experimentation.
• Design and implement applied solutions that deliver tangible business value.
• Assist in deploying and maintaining scalable, reliable data solutions in production environments.
• Collaborate with the data science team to align work with stakeholder goals.
• Leverage tools like Python, SQL, BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Colab Enterprise.
• Monitor performance of deployed solutions and support iterative improvements.
• Clearly communicate findings and recommendations via reports and visualizations.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Graduate program in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Neuroscience).
• Familiarity with Python, SQL, and notebook-based workflows (e.g., Jupyter or Colab).
• Understanding of core data science techniques such as regression, classification, and deep learning.
• Exposure to concepts of MLOps, DevOps, or deploying data solutions in cloud environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn new tools and concepts.
• Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with a constructive approach to feedback.
• Preferred: internship or project experience in data science or engineering; familiarity with GCP tools (e.g., Vertex AI, BigQuery ML), GA4 data, and real-world application of LLMs.
