Reports to: Fitness Director
Essential Functions
- Greet members by name, actively get to know their feedback and fitness goals.
- Develop positive relationships with members and encourage success of their goals by teaching a variety of challenging and entertaining classes.
- Circulate around the exercise area while providing safe, individualized instruction to the whole class by addressing safety issues and other modifications for exercises when necessary.
- Keep accurate records of class attendance, time worked, and substitutions.
- Consistently meet attendance goals to maintain time slot.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by cleaning and organizing studio after class.
- Arrive early and stay after class to connect with members and answer questions.
- Promote Athletic Centers products and services to class participants.
- Maintain clear communication with Fitness Director about any needs or suggestions.
- Address member concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and workshops.
- Ensure that personal or mechanical problems don't detract from the member's positive group fitness experience.
- Vary exercise routines while complying with established formats and standards.
- Design routines and provide music per LRAC standards with clean lyrics. Examples: www.powermusic.com, www.yesfitnessmusic.com

Requirements
Education
- Current group exercise certification.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Basic practical knowledge of human anatomy and kinesiology.
- Minimum 1 year group exercise teaching experience -preferred.
Required Skills
- Dependable, punctual, and excellent time management skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational with large groups.
- Excellent physical condition.
- Availability to teach a minimum of 2 classes per week.
