Job Description

At Arbital Health, we are transforming the US healthcare system by accelerating the shift from fee-for-service agreements to value-based care agreements. We do this by building a neutral, third-party platform that allows our customers to design, measure, and adjudicate value-based care agreements that maximize resources and help patients get the care they need to thrive. We are looking to hire a dynamic and experienced Engineering leader who will support the CTO to optimize our SaaS Platform solutions for quality, scalability, performance, and reliability while ensuring individuals are engaged and supported. You will provide both technical and managerial leadership, partnering with Product and Delivery to enhance cross-functional effectiveness and increase overall output. We are seeking a results-driven leader with a proven track record of building happy, high-impact teams that develop and deliver health tech SaaS solutions, understanding the nuances of large healthcare datasets, and proactively solving challenges in these areas.

Role & Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership and Strategy:
      Partner with our CTO to provide strategic direction and leadership for our engineering organization, define and execute a roadmap for technology initiatives, and align engineering efforts with company goals and customer needs
      Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency
      Collaborate with our CTO and other team members to identify emerging technologies and trends and develop strategies to leverage them for competitive advantage

Product Development and Delivery:
      Drive the engineering teams to achieve maximum sustainable velocity by improving efficiencies, processes, and engineering practices
      Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as product management, delivery/actuarial, sciences, operations, sales, marketing, and other departments to ensure successful product delivery and customer satisfaction. 
      Establish and enforce best practices for software development, quality assurance, and release management to maintain high standards of reliability and performance

Team Building and Talent Development:
      Create a supportive and empowering environment where engineers feel valued, motivated, and inspired to do their best work
      Motivate and manage the application and data engineering organizations, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, high performance, and exceptional quality
      Foster an engineering culture and organizational capabilities for continuous improvement, encouraging skill development and exploration of new approaches

Required Experience:

    • Experience and understanding of the nuances of large healthcare datasets (claims data experience, etc., is a big plus)
    • Demonstrated ability to scale an early platform into an enterprise product
    • Demonstrated skills in process improvement and partnering with technical project managers
    • 7+ years in an engineering management position with a focus on building SaaS software products
    • 5+ years managing multiple Senior and/or Director-level positions in software development
    • A technical engineering executive with proven success building best-in-class engineering organizations
    • Experienced in data-intensive, full-stack development projects, data engineering, and product engineering
    • Able to work entrepreneurially – self-motivated, ambitious, and fast-paced
    • High level of attention to detail
    • Passionate about improving and innovating
    • Able to commute to SF office at least once a week - our Engineering team is mostly based in the Bay Area
    • Eagerness to contribute to a paradigm-shifting mission and vision, and be the next hire on our high-talent bar!
    • Startup experience is highly preferred

    • The anticipated salary range for this position is $240,000 - $280,000 per year. Final numbers will be dependent on candidate skills and experience.
