Position Summary
As an Intern, you will support operations and the development of our cloud-based data environment. This role blends business analysis, document control, and data science to help drive efficiency and insight across our construction projects. You will receive the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience with tools like Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Python and SQL, while contributing to real-world initiatives that span from data entry and visualization to cloud data strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of construction and data, helping us achieve quick wins while laying the foundation for a scalable, modern data infrastructure.
Essential Functions
- Support data entry and validation for project and safety documentation using Microsoft tools.
- Use Python and SQL to query, clean, and transform project data.
- Collaborate with operation teams to identify data-driven opportunities for process improvement.
- Participate in the development of ETL pipelines and contribute to our data strategy.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data, Computer Science or Similar field.
- Current college junior or senior status.
- Experience or coursework in Python, SQL, or data visualization tools preferred.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI/Tableau, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Azure/Fabric is a plus.
- Strong organizational, written, verbal and time management skills.
- Detailed-orientated to recognize data discrepancies.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Working Conditions
- Location – This position will work out of our Burnsville Office.
- Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
- Schedule: Standard Business Hours
- Rate: $18-$20 an hour
