Job Description
The Rail Car Function Testing Engineer position is to provide technical expertise to the Function Test Department, maintain the Function Test facilities and equipment. Assist and advise the line supervisors and test technicians in system problems and testing. Assist in the design and implementation of test equipment, test facilities and testing methodology, Research and specify all test equipment required by project and maintain a database for the test equipment. Perform continuous improvement activity and facility layouts. Utilize all the above to meet or improve the testing schedule.
Candidate must have a minimum of B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and five years of experience working with both AC and DC high voltage equipment and power electronics. Strong English language skills (written and verbal); ability to define problems; collect and document data. Personal computer skills; experience with software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Possess the ability to communicate clearly and decisively with outside entities, suppliers and customers. CAD skills.
Supervisor experience preferred, but not required.
