Job Summary
Quality Assurance Tech
In this role you will support a positive safety culture in an Asphalt Paving environment that is regulated by NJDOT and NJTA Safety standards. As a Quality Assurance Tech, you will guide our Paving Crews and Lab team when testing for density/compaction using a density gauge, proper mixes per contract requirements, and coring to verify density. This role requires advanced technical knowledge and the ability to resolve independently any quality-related issues and recommend process improvements.
Day to Day
- Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
- Develop and manage quality assurance procedures and protocols for construction materials and processes, ensure the company is compliant with all related regulatory requirements, quality standards, and client specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations with NJDOT, NJTA, local municipalities and private entities.
- Oversee daily pre-shift equipment inspection and the work site inspections to maintain equipment performance.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and clients regarding any on-going compliance issues and quality audits.
- Conduct root cause analysis when there are issues and implement the necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain strong line of communication with Plant Operators, Paving Foremen, Superintendents and Lab Technicians.
About You
- Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
- Minimum 5 years direct experience with Asphalt Paving Quality Control
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with agency representatives
- A.T. Construction Certified, Hazmat and Troxler Certified
- Positive, Team-based attitude
- Willing to work in varied outdoor environments
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs and ladders
