Job Description
As the Senior Staff Engineer, Printed Circuit Board (PCB), you will serve as the subject matter expert within the engineering team, playing a critical role in the development of our life-saving devices, including monitors, defibrillators, and AEDs. This position is part of the Emergency Care business unit, where you will lead complex PCB designs and contribute to advancing the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of our embedded systems.
You will need to live within commuting distance to our Redmond, Washington office. You will need to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week and can work from home on other days.
What you will do
Lead the end-to-end design of high-speed, multi-layer PCB layouts for advanced embedded systems, ensuring performance and scalability.
Act as a subject matter expert in PCB layout, DFM/DFT methodologies, and CAD library architecture.
Use Cadence Allegro 17.4+ to execute precise and efficient board designs, from schematic capture to final layout.
Collaborate across global teams including electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to align on DFM/DFA best practices.
Coordinate with external partners and vendors to ensure all designs meet compliance and quality standards.
Define and continuously improve internal PCB design processes, documentation, and library standards.
Create and manage accurate schematic symbols, footprints, and full design documentation packages.
Mentor junior designers, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team environment.
What you need
Required Qualifications
High school diploma with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years specifically in Printed Circuit Board design and layout
Associate’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 6 years specifically in Printed Circuit Board design and layout
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in Printed Circuit Board design and layout
Proven experience in multi-layer board design (8+ layers) and high-voltage board design
Proficiency in Cadence Allegro software, version 17.4 or higher
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in leading complex PCB projects from concept to production
Strong understanding of IPC standards as they relate to PCB fabrication and assembly
