Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

*Please note that this is a Part Time role

• Cover and summarize meetings of various Florida state agencies, federal agencies, national insurance organizations, and insurance rule hearings. Assist in covering state legislative meetings, summarizing key points into concise reports for clients.

• Maintain and update distribution lists for key industry clients.

• Compose and edit insurance-related communications, including weekly regulatory and legislative reports, special alerts, and notices on topics such as insurance-related court rulings, rule hearings, state and federal legislative activities, and national insurance association meetings.

  • Assist in organizing meetings and preparing documents for national insurance conferences (held at least three times a year).
  • Research projects and help with preparing presentations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong technology skills, including experience with computer-based newsletter development.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working independently and prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of basic insurance terms and general concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation.
  • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience with insurance terminology and concepts.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Creative and sufficient in development of presentation materials
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Legal experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
