Essential Functions

  • Attending and participating in weekly and monthly safety talks
  • Deliver and recover a variety of equipment, tools and supplies to and from job sites
  • Planning routes, adhering to regulations, and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Safely loading and secure equipment to be transported.
  • Ensuring the truck is in good working order and reporting any issues.
  • All other duties as assigned

Other

  • Assist with the leadership and development of team members
  • Foster and maintain a safe work environment
  • Ensure OSHA, DOT, and FTA compliance within shops

Supervisory Requirements

This position does not have supervisory requirements.

Work Environment                                                                                                          

Additionally, a pressurized environment is the norm.

Employees will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands                                                                                                                     

The position lifts heavy objects, walks, stands for long periods, and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions.

  • Must be able to climb in and out of the truck and heavy equipment, on and off trailers. 
  • Must be able to drive and maintain focus for extended periods.
  • Must be able to properly secure all loads on trailer, using appropriate chains, binders, straps, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position. This position may require long hours, holidays, and weekend work. Start and end times may vary based on daily dispatch.

Travel                                                                                                                      

Required to travel to other projects.

Required Education and Experience

  • Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment
  • Must be reliable/have reliable transportation
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL and a current medical card
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment for loading/unloading trailers
  • Must be able to operate and maintain the truck and the lowboy trailer efficiently

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Working for a construction company is a plus

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment.
