JOB PURPOSE: The Advancement Technology Systems Analyst provides project management, business analysis and requirement gathering, support for Advancement business applications, and assists with the compilation of written documentation.
As a collaborative, donor-centric, and relationship-building professional, the Advancement Technology Systems Analyst supports Advancement Services as a well-integrated part of Pomona College’s overall fundraising program and provides support and sustainable solutions in preparation for the most aspirational, comprehensive campaign in the history of the College.
Working dynamically, effectively, and proactively across a diverse network of Advancement colleagues, donors, volunteers, staff, faculty, and other key stakeholders, the Advancement Technology Systems Analyst will support a customer-service oriented and successful donor- centric model of Advancement Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement Technology, the Advancement Technology Systems Analyst performs the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Perform project management tasks and coordinate special projects/tasks, providing assistance with other duties as assigned, under the supervision of the Advancement Services leadership.
- Assist with the management of the onboarding process, collaborating with managers, admins, and ITS to ensure that staff have the appropriate access to systems
- Manage the access control lists for all technology to ensure secure systems and tracking of users
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Advancement systems, ensuring proper configuration, integration, and maintenance, while providing clear documentation and training to support efficient end-user adoption and usage.
- Assist with the development of business processes and procedures.
- Conduct quality assurance testing and reviewing/proofreading written documentation.
- Manage support for Advancement technology systems, providing users with regular updates and status reports.
- Work with the Director to send announcements and other communications to users when problems or upgrades may affect service.
- Provide ongoing support for business applications used for Advancement purposes.
- Design and execute training sessions with Advancement division staff, including onboarding and regular course offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Licenses/Certificates: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of either project management or business analysis experience. General information systems experience is required. A minimum of 2 years’ experience at an academic institution is preferred.

- Able to recognize opportunities, identify critical/high pay-off activities, and prioritize them to attain goals.
- Must have an understanding of the principles and techniques relevant to information systems, including data management and analysis and systems design.
- Must understand the mission of the College’s liberal arts environment.
- Demonstrate effective, accurate and clear communication with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, reading, phone, and customer service skills. Follow all written and verbal instructions, asking questions as needed for clarification of projects/tasks/duties/assignments.
- Operate computers with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and associated professional software. Proficiency in Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, reporting applications such as Cognos, CRMA and Tableau is preferred. Routine use of Outlook, Word and Internet research is expected.
- Use assigned technology/devices/equipment to achieve annual goals and maintain confidentiality.
- Handle all activities and highly confidential information with patience, discretion, good judgment, courtesy and tact while working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including designers, writers, and editors.
- Prioritize and perform multiple projects/tasks, handle changing priorities, meet deadlines/timelines, proactively respond to others in a consistent and timely manner, and work both independently and as a collaborative member of the College with a high standard of integrity and ethics, in support of the College’s strategic vision and the department’s annual goals.
- Use strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills to complete work with accuracy and a keen attention to detail.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Overtime, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
HOURLY RATE:
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $36 to $40, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
