The Human Performance Laboratory at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Sr. Clinical Evaluator – Exercise Physiologist. This role serves as a clinical research expert within appropriate laboratory and leads evaluations per research protocols as a part of the appropriate laboratory. Performs more advanced/complex evaluations using specialized equipment and guides other staff in the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the population served. Supports research study-related tasks and trains other staff as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a clinical research expert within the appropriate Laboratory.
Lead the evaluations; Lead other staff in performing evaluations per research protocols as part of the appropriate Laboratory.
Perform more advanced/ complex evaluations using specialized equipment.
Guide other staff in the knowledge and skills (competencies) necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs and characteristics of the population served.
Support research study-related tasks (coordination) related to research protocols and train other staff as needed.
Support the development and implementation of programming, education, and research initiatives in collaboration with departmental administration.
Complete and review appropriate documents and records as required; communicate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., clinical and research staff) as required.
Guide early-career team members around systems and processes and overall planning and execution within own area.
Perform related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution
Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, biomechanics, or related field required
Masters or PhD in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, or similar preferred. PhD is highly preferred.
Minimum Experience:
5+ years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation, clinical research evaluation in clinical trials/cohort studies, exercise intervention, and/or exercise testing including 2+ years of research experience
3+ years of relevant internal St. Jude experience highly preferred.
5+ years of experience in pediatrics including 3+ years of clinical research evaluation in clinical trials/cohort studies
Experience assisting with research project coordination.
Proven performance in earlier role.
Oncology experience preferred.
Prior experience serving in a leadership position preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
Certification as a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) requiring a minimum of 600 verifiable hours of practical experience is required.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Sr Clinical Evaluator-Exercise Physiologist.Explore our exceptional benefits!
