UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA

The University of South Carolina and Legends, a global premium experiences company, have announced a multi-year partnership aimed at enhancing the fan experience at Gamecocks' sporting events and maximizing the University of South Carolina's Athletics revenue generation through a streamlined, data-driven sales approach. As part of the overarching agreement, Legends will manage premium seating and support ticket sales and philanthropic fundraising for the renovated Williams-Brice Stadium.

Phase 1 of the Williams-Brice Stadium project will focus on the design of the West and East Side of the stadium, including renovating and expanding the suite offerings. The initial plans include premium suites of various sizes and the installation of club seats.

THE ROLE

The Director of Premium Sales will report to the VP, Premium Seating and lead a team of premium salespeople on the ground at University of South Carolina. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue for upcoming capital project associated with Williams-Brice Stadium for South Carolina Athletics.

You will work in conjunction with South Carolina's Gamecock Club, Marketing, Ticket Office, Communication, and Administrative teams and plan to execute both holistic ticketing and premium seating campaigns via a variety of communication channels. This position must be well- versed in best practices in sales and constantly evaluate ways to ensure that the South Carolina Athletics is best positioned for success. Additionally, you must be results-driven, possess an optimistic team-first attitude, and have excellent organizational and leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with the VP, Premium Seating to develop and implement a comprehensive premium seating sales plan for expanded premium seating offerings in Williams-Brice Stadium
  • Recruit, hire, assist, train, and mentor team members on strategy, call scripts, sales presentations, and closing of sales
  • Analyze sales performance metrics to identify sales trends, develop targeted campaigns, and create new lead sources for the premium sales team
  • Build strategy to maximize our Experience Center to educate fans on the upcoming improvements and offerings coming to Williams-Brice Stadium
  • Create dashboards and virtual CRM reports to manage and track campaign performance and sales rep productivity
  • Support the VP, Premium Seating in creating quantitative & qualitative weekly and quarterly reports to highlight wins, losses, key learnings
  • Support in creating, developing, and executing content, marketing campaigns, lead generation, and data plans that increase premium seating and ticket sales for Williams-Brice Stadium and South Carolina Athletics
  • Develop relationships with other departments within the South Carolina Athletic Department including the Gamecock Club, Ticket Office, Marketing, University Relations, and other External Relations units to ensure a robust, donor-centric approach to all premium seating, ticket sales and fundraising efforts
  • Participate in planning meetings to discuss cross departmental revenue opportunities and collaborate with other team members to support and further the sales department goals
  • Participate in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required. Due to the nature of this project, the candidate must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends and game days
  • Assist in the creation and management of the project budget and business plan
  • Responsible for daily revenue tracking, campaign management and the regular communication of sales team performance to the Legends and client's leadership team

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in high-volume sales management role
  • Proven leadership experience in a sales environment including coaching, mentoring, hiring, training, and performance management

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Resourceful and innovative, with an entrepreneurial spirit and partnership-oriented mindset
  • Expertise in financial analysis, planning, budgeting and deal structuring
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver sound recommendations to senior management
  • Organization and planning skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work both traditional and non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and various ticketing systems
