Job Description

Job Title:    Director, Finance & Accounting 

Locations:   Goodwill North Central Texas --- 4200 Airport Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 

Salary:  $90,000 - $110,000 Annually

Work Hours:  FT (40 Hrs. per Week) Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

General Job Duties:   Administer all accounting policies and procedures by seeking to simplify and streamline process to create an accurate user-friendly system and by using generally accepted accounting principles in compliance with current Federal and State laws and regulations.  

Administer and maintain a system of record keeping and report generation, to include but not limited to budget preparation, financial statements, fixed assets, tax filings, grants, other end of month transactions, and investments which are responsive to the requirements of Goodwill and the appropriate Federal, State, and private agencies. Also serves as liaison between independent auditors and accounting staff for the annual audit.  

Provide on-going guidance, directions, and assistance to the Leadership Staff of Goodwill in accounting matters such as budget preparation, appropriate report generation, interpretation of financial statements, and deviations from performance measurement standards.  

Administer and implement auditing and inventory policies and procedures for the purpose of maintaining necessary control of agency funds, facilities, equipment, and merchandise. 

Skills and Minimum Qualifications:   A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required and a minimum of five (5) years’ corporate accounting experience with at least two of those years in a supervisory capacity. CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Prior non-profit work experience preferred. Ability to make monthly closing and publish financial statements. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and especially as they apply to non-profit accounting standards. Knowledge and use of current Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). 

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:   Inside office conditions. 

Legal Requirements:  Documentation to satisfy I-9 and ability to pass drug screen and background check.
