Hiring Range: $97,136 - $123,843.20 Per Year

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Director of Compliance to lead our regulatory compliance, call center operations, and safety programs. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, this on-site leadership position will play a critical role in protecting the agency from risk, fostering a culture of accountability, and advancing our mission through oversight of quality, safety, and customer service systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage KMHS's compliance program to ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, including Washington Administrative Code, DSHS, Department of Health, OIG, and related agency standards.
- Provide leadership for the KMHS Call Center, ensuring best practices for service, privacy, and client safety are upheld.
- Supervise the Safety Manager, Compliance Manager, Compliance/Quality Coordinator, and Customer Service Manager, supporting team development and cross-departmental coordination.
- Ensure compliance with agency credentialing procedures and regulatory requirements for staff licensure and certification.
- Develop and implement training programs for compliance, safety, and emergency preparedness across the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments, compliance audits, and internal investigations, implementing corrective action plans as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with accreditation bodies and regulatory agencies, coordinating site visits, responses, and follow-up.
- Lead efforts to prepare for and maintain CARF accreditation, including staff readiness, documentation, and systems alignment.
- Track and report compliance trends, concerns, and audit outcomes to executive leadership and recommend policy updates.
- Promote a culture of ethical decision-making, transparency, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, quality assurance, or related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, law, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Experience overseeing call center operations or workplace safety programs in a behavioral health or healthcare setting. Familiarity with CARF accreditation standards and preparation processes. Experience with state/federal audit processes or acting as agency liaison with regulators. Thorough knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, L&I, CMS).Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work onsite at our Bremerton campus.
LICENSES/CREDENTIALS: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or similar professional certification.

Work Environment: Office environment with occasional travel to other KMHS facilities. On-site presence required 100%
