TRUCK LOAD OUT OPERATOR - Surface

The Truck Load Out Operator will perform bulk loading of trucks, fill in for rail car bulk loading as needed, general clean-up, assist co-workers and perform duties as assigned.

Where will you work: Onsite at Carlsbad, NM (1361 Potash Mines Road- Carlsbad, NM 88220)

Schedule: This position will generally work Monday through Friday, alternating weekly between the 7am-3pm shift and the 3pm-11pm shift (which includes shift differential).

What you'll do:

  • Operate process control equipment (using PLC Controls-RS View and Panel View, start & stop equipment, monitor and adjust oil & feed rates, weigh cars and input car #'s along with tare weight), to maximize product quality with minimum loss.
  • Calculate process requirements and record data from various sources.
  • Inspect equipment for proper mechanical and process operation to correct problems and maintain maximum plant efficiency.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities with co-workers and supervisors.

What you'll need:

  • The candidate must be willing and able to successfully complete all phases of Storage and Loading including Truck Load out.
  • Follow instructions, analyze, monitor, and learn new processes and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and should have a good understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Demonstrate skills in planning, scheduling, and exercising independent judgment/decision making.
  • Use the necessary equipment and tools to perform the job duties.
  • Operate front-end loaders, forklifts, dump trucks, shuttle wagon, Vacuum truck and skid steers, and pass qual card tests for the noted equipment.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Knowledge of storage and loading process and equipment and must clearly articulate an understanding of process interactions, capabilities, and constraints.
  • Be a self-starter, and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to identify and correct problems and demonstrate a willingness to accept responsibility through initiative.
  • Must have a record of good attendance and demonstrate dependability.
  • This position prefers a candidate with a minimum of two (2) years of experience operating heavy equipment.
