Job Description
- Our ideal candidate will be hybrid (two days per week) out of our Austin, Texas office. We will also consider remote, Texas-based candidates who can come to the office 2-3 times per quarter*
Overview of Job/Team:
We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer (AI) to drive the development and integration of AI-powered features into our products. You will be instrumental in shaping and executing our AI roadmap, working across the stack with a focus on backend, data pipelines, and frontend integrations within an AWS environment. This role is ideal for a highly autonomous engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering impactful, user-facing AI solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Architect, design, and implement scalable AI-driven product features using modern full stack technologies.
- Integrate LLMs and other generative AI tools into web-based products and internal workflows.
- Develop and maintain APIs, services, and user interfaces that support AI-driven experiences.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product managers, investigators, and sales engineers to translate AI models into production-ready applications.
- Operate with a high degree of ownership and independence, taking initiative to move projects forward with limited oversight.
- Evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks, and advise on best practices for secure and responsible use.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the evolution of our engineering standards, especially as they pertain to AI/ML technologies.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a staff or senior technical leadership role.
- Proven experience with full stack development, particularly in AWS environments (e.g., Lambda, S3, ECS, Bedrock, etc).
- Demonstrable experience integrating LLMs and other generative AI tools into production systems.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Python, TypeScript, Go, etc.) and frontend frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc.).
- Strong systems design skills and a history of building reliable, scalable cloud applications.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Comfortable operating autonomously while also thriving in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of data security, compliance, and ethical considerations related to AI use.
- Prior work in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or high-scale data platforms.
