Position Summary
As a Dental/Surgical Assistant, you will work closely with our dentists to support oral surgeries and complex procedures. Your responsibilities include:
- Assisting during surgeries and other dental procedures, both with and without general anesthesia
- Preparing and arranging tools and instruments for procedures
- Providing chairside support, including suctioning and maintaining a sterile environment
- Sterilizing and disinfecting equipment, preparing trays, and instructing patients on post-operative care
- Taking dental X-rays and CT scans as needed
- Ensuring patient comfort and addressing any concerns
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma (HSD)
- At least 1 year of experience as a dental assistant
- CPR Certification
- Experience with dental practice management software (Dentrix or Dentrix Enterprise preferred)
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to assist with complex procedures, including implants and TMJ treatments
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused attitude
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands/fingers
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to blood, chemicals, and cleaning supplies
- Manual dexterity and good eye/hand coordination required
Additional Information
- Reliable transportation is required for travel within the metropolitan area
- Occasional out-of-country travel may be required, necessitating a valid passport
