Position Summary

The Process Specialist is responsible for developing and optimizing injection molding processes with newly designed and built tools. This role plays a key part in new process development and mold trial support during the design, build, and completion of project tooling. Provide expertise to support the production team when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and optimize injection molding processes using scientific molding principles (RJG, Decoupled Molding, etc.).
  • Participate in new tool startups and assist with DOE studies to determine

optimal process parameters

  • Establish standard operating procedures and setup sheets for all molding equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Troubleshoot process issues, provide technical support and feedback to the Designers, Engineers and Tooling group from the learnings of mold trials
  • Collaborate with tooling, quality, and production teams to ensure process stability and capability
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), tooling trials, and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for process-related issues
  • Participate in new tool startups and assist with DOE studies to determine

optimal process parameters.

  • Work independently to identify and provide all peripheral equipment needed to perform the mold trial.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment around injection molding machinery and machine shop setting.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Functional knowledge of heavy part moving using various lifting techniques (Cranes, forklift etc)
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Use of PPE as required (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).
