Role Responsibilities:
Ensure timely risk assessments and adequate controls for EH&S processes
Conduct incident investigations and trend analysis developing corrective action plans
Partner with site leadership and facility management services to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations
Provide leadership and builds partnership at site across all levels of the organization to foster EH&S culture improvement
Provide guidance and training to employees to ensure adherence to company EH&S Procedures and Standard Practices
Coordinate waste management programs across the physical scope of this position
Assist in the identification of Health & Safety hazards and the development of controls to mitigate risks including ergonomic improvements and site-specific accident prevention plans
Conduct EH&S audits; audit compliance to KGS policies and procedures and regulatory requirements; maintain and improve environmental regulatory compliance initiatives; evaluate effectiveness of EH&S programs
Coordinate worker’s compensation program including claims management, and return-to-work coordination
Work on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups, external to and within the core EH&S team
Provide timely information and guidance to the site leadership team, and site EH&S council, including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses
Drive action plans to meet and exceed aggressive EH&S goals
Lead and instruct EH&S training courses, and ensure all required training is completed
Develop and implement strategic action plans to achieve the company goal of having a hazard free workplace
Determine and implement environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, greenhouse gas generation, hazardous waste generation and increase recycling rate
Oversees as well as achieves and maintains compliance in environmental health and safety policies for overall operations.
Advises on EHS regulatory matters to achieve and maintain that organization and government standards are met.
Leads significant continuous improvement initiatives for EHS to achieve and maintain comprehensive compliance.
Monitors and executes the strategy for EHS initiatives.
Influences the key stakeholders and presents high level EHS data/information to executive leadership.

Role Purpose:
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Generalist at Kidde Global Solutions, Bradenton is responsible for leadership and support to oversee Environmental, Health and Safety programs for the Bradenton Engineering Center, support commercial construction management projects across the USA and support WHQ in Palm Beach, FL with onsite inspections and training. This individual will manage/lead the EH&S function, providing technical support to advance EH&S programs with a primary focus on compliance with all local, state, federal, and KGS EH&S related requirements.
We are looking for a highly energetic, self-driven, and dedicated EH&S professional, with excellent English written and oral communication skills and the ability to excel in a matrix organization. The ability to work in a fast-paced team-based work environment is critical for success. The ideal candidate will also possess strong leadership and analytical skills. In addition, an understanding and knowledge of legal EH&S requirements including OSHA/EPA requirements is required with a focus in General Industry and Construction requirements. This position will also be required to have/obtain a Radiation Safety Officer certification.
The physical scope of this position will include Kidde North America: Bradenton, FL (R&D), and KGS HQ in West Palm Beach, FL as well as various projects across the USA.
The Environmental Health & Safety Generalist will be based in Bradenton, FL, and be required to travel for one week to other locations every month, with additional travel potential.
Minimum Requirements:
High School/GED with recognized Certification in Environmental, Safety, Health or Risk Management such as CSHO, OSHA General Industry Outreach Trainer, OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer, OSHA Certificate in Safety & Health Fundamentals (formerly OSHA Public Sector Certificate), Manager of Environmental, Safety and Health Certificate Program (MESH) and 7+ years’ experience in Environmental, Safety and Health program management in manufacturing and/or construction environment OR an Associate Degree with 5+ years’ experience in Environmental, Safety and Health program management in manufacturing and/or construction environment
50% travel a month to Kidde North America locations
