Job Description
The Precast Designer-Drafter is responsible for structural and mechanical design and drafting precast concrete products using Stack-It and/or commercial software. Must have a knowledge of general building construction, precast concrete, as well as plumbing and electrical systems.
- Produce precast concrete utility submittal design drawings.
- Create submittal packages, proposal drawings and production drawing sets
- Provide continual improvement suggestions as part of a collaborative team
- Collaborate with other departments to assist and answer any design related inquiries
- Prepare Stack-it export and SAP import files, ensuring correct numbers and pricing
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Degree in Engineering, Civil, Mechanical, or similar degree (preferred)
- 0 - 2 years' drafting experience in a manufacturing or construction industry
- Proficient in the use of Autodesk products
- Proficient in Stack-It (preferred)
- Excellent understanding of drafting standards & principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (formulas, hyperlinks, sorting and searching data).
- Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of mathematical concepts (calculate volumes, simple load calculations, metric equivalents, drawing scales)
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of precast concrete design and civil drawings (preferred)
- Desire to continue to grow and develop
