About The Site
Lackawanna Energy Center is a nominal 1500 MW combined cycle power generation facility using GE’s 7HA gas turbine platform. The facility is located in the Borough of Jessup, Pennsylvania (near Scranton, PA).
Position Overview
Responsible for the safe and proper operation and maintenance of the power generation facility. Equipment may include gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, heat recovery steam generators, air compressors, water treatment equipment, motors, pumps, piping and other auxiliary equipment. Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety.
Position Overview
The O&M Technician provides the organization with a knowledgeable, multi-skilled, troubleshooting expert who operates and maintains a combined cycle power station. This position requires highly flexible individuals that work various shift schedules in a team environment. Invenergy will train extensively in the operations area to compliment your skills.
Responsibilities
The O&M Technician will be a team player performing operations, maintenance and technical support to achieve safe, cost effective operation and maintenance of the Lackawanna Energy Center.
Operate the facility during start-up, shutdown, normal and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Maintain and trouble-shoot mechanical, electrical and or control systems in a power generation facility.
Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance.
Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.
The O&M Technician will work various shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime and must be able to work holidays.
Required Qualifications
High school degree or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical degree/diploma; education in mechanical, electrical, or instrument and controls work.
GE 7FA experience a plus.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Base Pay
$37.78 - $61.02 USD Hourly
Bonus: 0% - 10%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
