Who You Are...
As an Inventory Control Supervisor, this position is responsible for the assigned support staff, complies with company policies and procedures. Oversees and monitors the operational activities within the warehouse including inventory, order pulling, product restock, and receiving. Works with peers in operations and other departments to resolve challenges and find solutions that will improve the overall operation.
- Supervise inventory control staff (receiving, stockroom, order picking).
- Supervise the daily activity of inventory control.
- Audits inventory information, stock status, and inventory balances for accuracy.
- Interacts with internal customers to provide expeditious customer service.
- Monitors and reviews daily cycle counts.
- Researches and analyzes discrepancies and resolves them.
- Monitors all inbound receipts to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
- Monitors productivity and throughput against demand and goals and takes appropriate action to meet demand and goals.
- Leads and oversees special projects to ensure quality and completion.
- Develops, implements, and maintains inventory control procedures and processes jointly with the Supply Chain Systems Manager.
- Develops and implements strategies for procedures for effective control of materials.
- Reviews daily/weekly/monthly achievement of KPIs and report variances.
- Facilitates cross-functional meetings to resolve open issues as needed.
- Ensures the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Do You Need...
- A minimum of High School, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience required
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication as well as leadership skills
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as MRP/ERP experience
- Experience in Six Sigma/Lean
- Must be able to multi-task
- Demonstrate ability to identify problems within a process and to develop feasible solutions
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize, work efficiently, problem solve and work positively within a team.
- Ability to make decisions using good judgment and discretion
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Effective records management techniques
- Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to travel 5% of the year
