Job Description
Job Title: Communication Disorders Adjunct Instructor - COMD 213: Introduction to Hearing Science and Acoustics
Posting Close Date: June 9, 2025 at 12:00am (MDT)

Position Start Date: August 25, 2025
Required Degree: Master's in Communication Disorders.
The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:
Teaching background or capability in audiology, hearing science, and acoustics
Clinical or research experience in audiology
Familiarity with acoustic measurement equipment, audio software, and human anatomy from outer ear to brain
Duties/Expectations:
Teach undergraduate Introduction to Hearing Science and Acoustics (twice weekly at BYU)
Present fundamental acoustic principles and auditory anatomy/physiology concepts through engaging lectures and demonstrations
Connect theoretical concepts to clinical applications in audiology
Design effective assessments and guide students through term projects
Mentor students with teaching assistant support
Stay current with hearing science developments and integrate these into class
Collaborate with department faculty on curriculum and student preparation

This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
