Transportation Planning and Design

Summary
Are you an early-career professional with a passion for community engagement and public infrastructure? We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Project Communications Coordinator to support public involvement efforts for impactful transportation, community planning, and design projects. This is a great opportunity for associate-level professionals to grow their career while making a tangible difference in the communities we serve.
In this dynamic role, you'll play a key part in planning and executing public engagement activities. Responsibilities include coordinating public meetings and events, managing mailing lists and advertisements, preparing meeting materials, collecting public input, and developing reports and presentations. You'll also support digital engagement through website content and stakeholder communications.

- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) - Developing

Technical Expertise
- Solid understanding of technical fundamentals
- Performs basic technical tasks with market sector with limited oversight
- Performs quality control of basic deliverables

Project Delivery
Produces the following under limited direction/oversight from others:
- Fact sheets
- Presentations, posters, boards, and other visual aids
- StoryMaps and graphic storytelling
- Meeting agendas, minutes, notes, and summaries
- Event plans and associated event materials
Understanding Budget and Schedule
Moderate understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets. With guidance, predicts the level of effort for individual tasks and successfully delivers tasks within that level of effort. Monitors results on moderately complex projects.
Industry Standards and Regulations
Familiarity with project materials to enable effective public involvement and communication support to be provided.
Client Interaction
Limited direct interaction, commonly in group settings. Responds to emails, attends meetings, and answers questions/comments with limited autonomy.

Level of Work/Accountability
Performs moderately complex technical work on projects for the assigned market sector. Operates with limited autonomy - work is supervised and reviewed by more senior staff.
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, planning, or journalism preferred
- Years of experience required: 2 years
- Years of experience required with advanced degree: 1 year
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to create and interpret graphs and understand statistical analysis.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
