We are seeking a Software Developer (Journeyman) to provide expertise in technical design, development, implementation, and optimization of software solutions for large-scale DoD systems. This role involves programming, testing, debugging, analysis, and system enhancement, ensuring high-performing software solutions that align with national security objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed technical designs and software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and implement software applications to support DoD systems.
  • Conduct organizational needs assessments, aligning software development initiatives with operational goals.
  • Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, ensuring optimized encoding, testing, and installation for large-scale deployments.
  • Maintain software performance efficiency, identifying and resolving system issues.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate secure software development methodologies into DoD infrastructure.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for software development, system revisions, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, security standards, and risk management frameworks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred. 
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • 4 years' experience with a master's degree or higher OR
    • 2 years' experience with a Doctorate Degree OR
    • 6 years' experience with a bachelor's degree OR
    • 8 years' experience with an associate's degree.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in software development, programming languages, debugging, and testing methodologies.
    • Ability to design and modify large-scale DoD software systems, ensuring efficiency and security.
    • Understanding of network security, encryption protocols, and secure coding best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with classified defense software systems and military cybersecurity operations.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based software solutions (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
  • Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, AWS Certified Developer, or DoD-approved software engineering credentials.
