Job Description
Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Axis Spine Team!
This position will be 3 10-hour shifts!
The Registered Nurse will direct and/or provide professional nursing care for an assigned group of patients across the age continuum. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to direct or provide nursing care. Responsible assessing & providing for vascular access with the appropriate device, to include peripheral IV, midline or extended dwell IV, PICC lines, Port A Cath access/de-access. Administering conscious sedation under the direction of a physician or CRNA. Caring for patients who are receiving conscious sedation. Individuals in this role perform such duties as performing peripheral, midline, PICC Intravenous access. Assessing patients for an appropriate intravascular device. Monitoring/assessing patients receiving conscious sedation before, during and after receiving conscious sedation. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Current RN licensure
- BLS
- ACLS and PALS Certification within 6 months of employment
- Previous sedation experience required
